Gilles BianRosa Gilles BianRosa
Chief Executive Officer

Gilles BianRosa is the Chief Executive Officer of Vuze, Inc. As CEO, Gilles is driving the evolution of the company from the popular, award-winning peer-2-peer application to a global distribution and exchange platform for high-resolution digital content.

Prior to Vuze, Gilles was with McKinsey and Company in Palo Alto, California, where he led mission-critical initiatives related to product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies for venture- backed and "academy" technology companies including Microsoft, HP, BEA, SAP.

Prior to McKinsey, Gilles was instrumental in the launch of Vivendi's media and services Internet platform for health professionals. Early in his career, Gilles founded MileStone, a software company serving the retail industry.

Gilles is a frequent speaker at leading industry events in the US and Europe.

Gilles holds a MS in Computer Science from EPITA School of Engineering in Paris, and an MBA from Harvard University in Boston.

Olivier Chalouhi Olivier Chalouhi
Chief Technology Officer

Olivier Chalouhi is the CTO of Vuze, Inc. After graduating from the French Aeronautical and Space school Supaero in Toulouse, Olivier held various project management positions in the software industry working closely with partners such as Orange MIB and IBM. In June 2003, he initiated the Open Source project Azureus.

Today, the Azureus Application has been downloaded more than 140 million times, consistently earning it the rank as most active project on the global open source repository Sourceforge, where it was also elected "Project of the month" in August 2004, and "Best Overall Project" during the 2006 SourceForge community awards.

Jim Diaz Jim Diaz
Senior VP, Ad Strategy and Sales

Jim has been in the online space for the last 13 years, starting up sales, business development and operations teams for Industry.Net, Excite.com, Ask Jeeves, Turn Ad Network, TurnHere, Internet Video and now Vuze. Before online, he spent 12 years in television sales at the network (NBC), national tv spot (Blair) and local affiliate levels (WJAR-TV, Providence, KOLO-TV, Reno, KEYT-TV, Santa Barbara).

As one of the pioneers in the online ad space, he has built and executed strategies that have scaled both startups and turnarounds from zero to $100 million + in annual revenues more than once.

Jim lives in Lafayette, CA with his wife and two kids. He received a B.A. in English Literature from Syracuse University.

Rick Phillips Rick Phillips
Senior Vice President, Content

Rick Phillips is the Senior Vice President, Content, of Vuze, Inc. In this role Rick oversees the company's content strategy, operations and video licensing activities. Rick is working to build Vuze into a premier video destination for viewers around the world by offering top-quality content from leading television networks, motion-picture studios and from leading independent producers of both traditional media and original on-line content.

Rick has more than 20 years of media and technology experience for leading U.S. and international companies. Directly prior to Vuze, Rick worked in Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division, where he managed video licensing activities and led key deals that resulted in the introduction of the Xbox Live Video Marketplace service. Prior to Microsoft, Phillips led Gemstar-TV Guide's international cable and satellite services business, and held executive roles at Liberty Global, Liberty Media Corporation, and MGM.

Rick holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College.

Luther Kitahata Luther Kitahata
Vice President of Engineering

Luther Kitahata is the Vice President of Engineering of Vuze, Inc. Prior to Vuze, Luther was part of the founding team and Vice President of Engineering at TiVo, Inc. where he led numerous product releases, software releases, and key partnerships in engineering with companies such as Sony, Philips, DIRECTV, and Pioneer.

Before joining TiVo, Luther was part of the founding team at Navio Communications (later Liberate Technologies) providing software platforms for delivering digital content and services to televisions. Prior to that, he co-founded eMotion (later purchased by Cinebase), a leading provider of digital media distribution, collaboration, and asset management systems. Luther began his career at Silicon Graphics.

Luther holds a MS and BA with Honors in Computer Science from Brown University.

John Fernandes John Fernandes
Vice President of Product and Marketing

John Fernandes is Vice President of Product and Marketing at Vuze, Inc. In this role, John leads the Product Management, User Experience Design, Marketing, and PR functions of Vuze, and is working to build Vuze into the world's leading platform for high-res and HD video.

Prior to joining Vuze, John was Senior Director of Marketing at eBay, Inc. where he led global brand management, oversaw global brand tracking and user satisfaction studies, and directed all consumer marketing efforts for comparison shopping site Shopping.com. During John's six-year tenure at eBay, he managed multiple marketing functions including consumer, brand and category marketing, and led eBay's largest community marketing and PR initiative, eBay Live. Prior to eBay, John held marketing and strategy positions at Levi Strauss & Co., Sapient, and Dole Foods.

John holds a BA in International Relations from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jay Monahan Jay Monahan
General Counsel

Jay Monahan is Vice President and General Counsel of Vuze, Inc. Prior to joining Vuze, he was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Intellectual Property, for eBay Inc., the world's leading online marketplace. A member of the eBay Legal Department from 1999 to 2007, he managed litigation and intellectual property matters for the eBay companies, and, among other things, was the architect of eBay's worldwide copyright compliance program (VeRO) and assisted in the development of countless product features and marketplace policies.

Prior to eBay, Jay was Vice President, Worldwide Anti-Piracy for Walt Disney Pictures & Television (1993-99), where he managed anti-piracy activities relating to all forms of Disney's filmed entertainment. He also spent five years as a high technology litigator with firms based in Palo Alto and Los Angeles.

Jay is a 1987 graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1981 from the University of California at Berkeley.

Milan Parikh Milan Parikh
Chief Financial Officer

Milan Parikh brings over 17 years of finance, accounting, HR, and operational management experience to Vuze, Inc. His experience spans a variety of industries including entertainment, wireless communications, Internet, and enterprise software, and has been involved in over $200 million in public, private, and debt equity financings.

Prior to joining Vuze, Milan was Chief Financial Officer of Sonim Technologies, Inc. He has also held various financial management positions at venture-backed start-ups AlterEgo Networks and Prio (acquired by Infospace in February 2000) and also at publicly-traded companies Pixar Animation Studios and Electronics for Imaging. Milan began his career at Price Waterhouse, where he earned a credential as a Certified Public Accountant.
