Guido Schneider has been producing electronic music since more than 10 years now. Strongly influenced by âEBMâ he started his first project in 1991 with a friend and his first records were released on SPV. In 1995 he founded his own Label âNeue Weltenâ (New Worlds) based in Zelle, Germany. In 1996 he moved to Berlin where he began to fully focus on music. His productions and co-productions (e.g. as âSchneider & Radeckiâ with Sammy Dee) always sounded sort of minimal, but also functional as he dared to stick his head out of his soundlab at an early stage, experiences from various live performances helped to perfect his tracks. Another special milestone was the birth of his daughter. Changes marked the beginning of the new millennium: Guido closed down his label âNeue Weltenâ and met vocalist Florian Schirmacher. After the first joint studio sessions it became obvious that Guidoâs production and Florianâs vocal skills would complement each other perfectly and together they founded the project Glowing Glisses. Glowing Glisses released 3 singles (on Poker Flat and Dessous Recordings) and their remarkable debut album âSilver Surferâ on Poker Flat. Inspired by the addition of Florianâs vocals as an instrument to his music, Guido felt that he was almost able to realize his musical ideas for the first time. The fascination that emanates from âSilver Surferâ is based on the contrast between Florianâs warm harmonic vocals and Guidoâs dry, minimal and subtle productions. In 2002 Guido and Glowing Glisses joined Steve Bug, Märtini Brös and Martin Landsky on the Poker Flat World Tour around the globe. Back in Germany, highly inspired Guido began focusing on his solo project âGuido Schneiderâ. His first Poker Flat single âTriple Boltedâ (pfr35) and the track âMovedâ showed Guidoâs huge potential. Two 12âs followed in 2004: âUnterwegs mit Guido Schneiderâ (pfr47, including a fantastic remake of âMovedâ) and âOh My Bufferâ. These two 12âs finally put Guido on the map of internationally acclaimed producers. Guido was also Steve Bugâs first choice to remix his unstoppable classic âLoverboyâ for Poker Flatâs 50th anniversary release. With his remix of B.âs âMinikoolâ he ended extremely successful year 2004. In 2005 Guido first contributed exclusive track âLas Cuerdas de Las Canariasâ to the âPoker Flat Volume Fourâ album, alongside artists such as Steve Bug, Donnacha Costello, Argy and Jeff Samuel. With the tragic events in Asia, Guido Schneider & Andre Galluzi supported the Tsunami victimsâ charity compilation, âSurvivorâ was an exclusive track on Tuning Sporkâs Tsunami Benefit CD. In the first half of 2005 he continued his success with more excellent remixes including Dubcultâs âOn&Onâ, which went on to become one of this Ibiza seasonâs hottest tracks, the hypnotic vocal and Guidoâs trademark baseline ringing in the head of clubbers, not only in Ibiza â re-appearing on many compilations accordingly. While chilling at home, Guido then tripped over 2Dawgsâ track âItâs A Dawgs Lifeâ, eventually calling up his buddies, letting them know that he wanted to remix the track, due to the weird hook he was into â the track ended up being released on the Mood Music 12â. Remixes of Daniel Stefanikâs âMove Meâ on Moon Harbour and Brtschitsch & Galluzziâs âRegenschauerâ (on Taksi, his close friend Andre Galuzziâs label) followed, maintaining his high quality throughout, once more proving his status as an incredible producer. After this long period of remixes, in September âEarthbrowserâ, his first solo EP in a while was released on Jay Hazeâs Tuning Spork, rotating in clubs around the world, further undermining his reputation as an outstanding producer of minimal, yet extremely funky, pounding yet atmospheric tracks. Returning a favor to his friend Toxic, Guido then contributed a remix to Five T.âs âGraaleâ, to be released on Berlinâs Record Storeâs self named Freizeitglauben label. Recently, Gudio joined forces with old friend Sammy Dee (Pantytec) again, whom he had worked with years ago as Schneider & Radecki â they never were out of touch, merely too busy with their own projects. The result of this reunification was the new Poker Flat 12â âStylewaysâ, ruling Clubcharts and Dancefloors alike. Under the moniker âMotoguzziâ, Guido also remixed Easy Woman, actually a re-remix since itâs based of a track remixed by Musik Krausesâ Robag Wruhme. This one was released on the first compilation of Berlinâs legendary Bergain club (ex-Ostgut), mixed and compiled by his friend Andre Galuzzi. Coming up in near future is his first remix ever to be released on Richie Hawtinâs Minus label, remixing Plastikman himself, watch out for the âPanikattackâ 12â. As a DJ and producer of international demand, currently Guido Schneider tours top clubs around the world and works on his first solo album, with release planned for March 2006.
