Foo Fighters - The Pretender [2007][SkidXvid]
Foo Fighters are an American rock band that was formed by musician Dave Grohl in 1995 in Seattle, Washington. The group is named after the World War II term "foo fighter", used to refer to mysterious aerial phenomena. The band has earned a worldwide following, and have scored a number of hit songs, including 'This Is a Call', 'Everlong', 'Learn to Fly', 'All My Life', 'Times Like These', 'Best of You', 'DOA', and 'The Pretender'. Two of their albums, 'There Is Nothing Left To Lose' and 'One By One', won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. On top of their six studio albums, they have also contributed to several movie soundtracks, including the song 'The One' on the 2002 Orange County soundtrack.
'Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace' is the sixth studio album by the Foo Fighters, released on September 24th 2007. The album is produced by Gil Norton who previously worked with the group on their second album, 'The Colour and the Shape'. As the former drummer with Nirvana, you would expect Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to deliver an album of powerful riffs and hard-hitting rhythms. The singer-guitarist does just that on the opening track 'The Pretender'. What will surprise many is his all-round brilliance with folksy, acoustic numbers and arena pleasing piano ballads such as 'Home'. This is everything a modern rock record should be.
