ReportPropaganda film that relates the story, as told by high school principal Dr. Carroll to parents at a PTA meeting, of the scourge of marijuana. The tale revolves around Mae and Jack, accomplices in the distribution of marijuana, who manage to entice the local high school kids to stop by Mae's apartment to smoke reefer. The lives of all who are involved with this menace are inevitably shattered. One youngster becomes so addicted to the killer weed that a judge orders him to be committed for life to a mental hospital! Dr. Carroll advises us to not incur the same tragedy.

If you ever wanted to know why propaganda can be so powerful in the minds of so many, this is one film to see.
I'm glad to see this on here, as it's quite instructive (AND entertaining, to boot!)... but not, I think, in the way the filmmakers intended.
Here's a hint, though: take nothing you see in "Reefer Madness" to heart- it was intended to be a propaganda film at the time it was made... but today, it's no more or less than an example of well-executed propaganda.
Well worth watching!
