This project (high speed rail connecting the L.A. to the Bay Area) was all the rage when I moved to the state in 1998. I'm glad that someone is actually doing something about it and I hope this video gets more and more people cheering it on.
I know of a few people who spend more than 2.5 hours on their commutes each way. It would be great if you cold live almost wherever you want and have the high speed rail be your primary mode of transport, however, the project needs to be coupled with stricter urban planning or development proceedures along the line so that urban sprawl doesn't become the next issue that needs solving (it kind of already is).
The only problem I have with the video is the overuse of tunnels.

Always on the forefront, if only out of necessity. This reminds of another short video regarding the implementation of universal health care in California. Let's hope these changes come to Cali soon, and the rest of the USA is close behind.
